The day's flying was over at Dunkeswell Airfield, Devon, and this aircraft stood quietly parked as the sun began to disappear towards the horizon.
For a brief moment, the setting sun aligned perfectly with the wing, its final rays breaking around the silhouette and filling the sky with a rich amber glow.
There was no movement now, just the stillness of the aircraft against the fading light. What had been a busy working machine during the day had become a simple, almost sculptural shape against the evening sky.
After the Last Flight captures that quiet transition between activity and stillness — when the flying is finished, the airfield begins to fall silent, and the last light of the day takes over.
