Deep within Haldon Forest, the woodland was quiet and subdued when a shaft of light found its way through the dense canopy, illuminating a single tree among the darker conifers. What caught my attention was the contrast between that fleeting warmth and the deep, shadowed forest surrounding it. The moss-covered floor seemed to lead naturally towards the light, while the tall trunks created a sense of stillness and enclosure. It was one of those brief moments in woodland photography when the light transforms an otherwise ordinary scene into something quite special. Fine art photography by Roy Anderson.
